Its flesh is a deep, consistent red with no internal "ringing," offering a sweet, earthy flavor that is delicious whether eaten fresh in salads, pickled, or roasted.

One of Pablo's greatest strengths is its versatility. It can be harvested early as a tender "baby beet" or left to mature into a full-sized main crop without losing its smooth texture or becoming woody. It also boasts excellent bolt resistance, making it a reliable choice for early sowings.

Sowing & Growing Instructions

Sowing Outdoors:

• When: March to July.

• Method: Sow thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm deep, with 30cm between rows.

• Thinning: Once seedlings appear, thin them gradually to a final spacing of 10cm apart.

• Note: Do not transplant. To ensure a continuous supply of sweet, small roots, sow successionally every two weeks.

Growing in Containers:

• Pablo F1 is an ideal variety for patio containers. Use a high-quality compost and ensure the pots are kept well-watered to maintain the sweetness of the baby roots.

Top Tip: To enjoy the best flavor, harvest when the roots are between the size of a golf ball and a tennis ball. If you intend to use them as baby beets, harvest even earlier for maximum tenderness.
